The hoists I got came with many different parts that were extra in my case. the instructions weren't worth much but it's so simple that they weren't needed. The product worked as advertised. I wanted to free up some floor space where I could put some bikes that are used everyday and Kayaks that are used 1 or 2 times per week.

This product is well made and, if you follow instructions, easy to install. The instructions include a line drawing one must look closely at to to understand. I use this Kayak hoist to hold a large ladder up and out of the way in my workshop. I am very satisfied!

Lifting something becomes a problem as both ropes must be pulled at the same time and released at the same time. If you don't one end will free-fall to the floor.

This is a great pulley at a great price. I've seen these at Home Depot for a lot more. I installed it the day after I got it. I actually used this for suspending a two stage snow blower. It weighs about 40 pounds. It was relatively easy to pull this up and is very stable. I would note that the add says it's rated for 100 pounds but when I got it the instructions say it's rated for 125 pounds. It seems sturdy enough that I would trust it with something heavier. All told it was a great buy.

The hoist is sturdy and holds the kayak generally well. However, the directions were unclear and poorly written and there were some random extra pieces that we didn't need in the packaging which added to the confusion. We also ended up having to tie a line around the two "holders" to keep the ropes together so the kayak didn't slip off. overall please with the product but sorry it was such a hassle to put together, we are good at this type of thing and it was unnecessarily difficult.

These were larger and heavier than I expected...better for heavy duty applications. But, the quality is not great...just adequate. But, at $20 it is a great value. I haven't yet installed it but can see that the supplied rope is inadequate (cheap, frayed), but, I can easily replace that. I suspect that it is too short anyway as I have a 12 foot ceiling. It was delivered within about 5 days...packaging is marginal but, it made it OK. I'm satisfied.

Works great. Decent rig. My only complaint is that two of the straps were made without the sewn loops that go over the hooks. The others were. Not enough to justify contacting seller, but still, not right. Had to tie a loop for the ones that were just straight straps. Too bad, this would have been a straight 5.
